This week's featured adventure stories
Abra McNair's Adventure Story: Orienteering FailsAbra joined us in Portland, OR. She spends a lot of her time purposefully lost in the woods, choosing her own adventure, no matter how humiliating, as you’ll hear in her story featured in this episode.
Julie Cassata's Adventure Story: The Allure of OrienteeringJulie joined us at Seattle Boldly Went. She’s a long distance runner, thru-hiker, and orienteer, most recently having completed the Bellingham Bay road marathon, small change for an athlete like her.
We want to extend Julie’s encouragement and encourage you to find someone that's doing their intriguing activity and to go along and do it too. Maybe that’s orienteering, maybe it’s something else, but go and do it. Be brave and let yourself be awkward and get comfortable with making mistakes and going back to correct them. When you do, you stretch your mind, you make it think outside of it’s normal pathways and you create new pathways. You will grow exponentially because of it, and that will make you a resilient human being!
