Outdoor Business Development / Marketing & Sales Intern

Boldly Went is creating an international network of outdoorists through storytelling and personal connections. We create live shows, a weekly podcast, an online content management platform, and take people on off-the-beaten-track adventures.
We are looking for a special dirtbag or adventure lifestyler who cares about developing our outdoor adventure community and creating a network of rad people as much as we do. Specifically, we are searching for a person who wants to grow their skills in event marketing through sponsor acquisition and ticket sales to a diverse audience of outdoor adventurers for upcoming shows in Truckee CA, Moab UT, Seattle WA, Bend OR, Bremerton WA, and New Zealand.
Travel is not a requirement of this position and all work is expected to be done remotely/virtually. This position is location independent. This will start as a high-percentage commission position; as the revenue stream becomes more stable, the pay structure will change to include a base pay and lower commission with additional adjustments as needed. Looking for someone for 10 hours per week, ideally through the end of 2018 to help us with our 6+ upcoming shows and to establish our 2019 calendar.
Benefits include two free tickets to all live shows, Boldly Went hat and shirt, . Not offering other benefits at this time.
Requirements
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate effectively as a team member.
- Ability to communicate at all levels with internal/external clients by phone, email, and occasionally face-to-face.
- Proficiency in G-Suite (Docs, Slides, Sheets).
- A positive attitude with good organizational, presentation, and writing skills.
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent education.
- A committed ourdoorist who is committed to creating the life you want.
- Attentiveness to detail and scheduling
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to create and develop strong working relationships with partners
Responsibilities
- Provide research on potential and existing clients and the competitive landscape
- Managing and following up on digital marketing campaigns
- Assist in identifying potential business opportunities
- Monitor news and developments relating to, or impacting, key clients/prospects
- Prepare periodic reports on screening, tracking, and monitoring clients and prospects
